Business Development Director - Defense

Drive business growth within the Department of Defense and Intelligence Community. Leverage your existing relationships and deep understanding of the $66B DoD IT & Cyber budget to expand our footprint in space systems ($40B), counter-narcotics ($1B+), and missile defense programs. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute business development strategy for DoD and IC markets
  • Build and maintain relationships with program managers, contracting officers, and decision-makers
  • Identify and qualify opportunities within classified and unclassified contract vehicles
  • Lead proposal development and capture management for competitive procurements
  • Navigate complex government procurement processes (FAR, DFARS, SAP requirements)
  • Represent Turrem at government conferences, trade shows, and classified briefings
  • Collaborate with technical teams to develop winning solution architectures

Required Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with strong network across DoD/IC
  • 8+ years of business development experience in defense contracting
  • Proven track record closing contracts $5M+ with DoD or intelligence agencies
  • Deep understanding of government procurement and contract vehicles (GWAC, IDIQ, OTA)
  • Experience with classified program business development
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for executive engagement
  • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred

Preferred Qualifications

  • Existing relationships with NGA, NRO, Space Force, or missile defense programs
  • Experience with Golden Dome Initiative or satellite intelligence programs
  • Knowledge of counter-narcotics intelligence community operations
  • Previous experience at prime contractors or high-growth defense tech companies
  • Understanding of data platform or AI/ML technology solutions
  • Experience with international defense partnerships
