Senior Technical Writer (Cleared)

Create comprehensive technical documentation for both classified and unclassified systems. Develop user guides, API documentation, system architecture documents, and training materials for government customers and internal teams. Work across defense and healthcare domains producing clear, accurate documentation for complex data systems.
Key Responsibilities
- •Write and maintain technical documentation for government and commercial customers
- •Create user manuals, installation guides, and system administration documentation
- •Develop API documentation and developer guides for integration partners
- •Produce training materials, video tutorials, and knowledge base articles
- •Collaborate with engineers and PMs to understand technical features and requirements
- •Ensure documentation meets government standards (MIL-STD, DoD documentation requirements)
- •Manage documentation lifecycle including version control and updates
Required Qualifications
- •Active Secret clearance (TS/SCI strongly preferred)
- •5+ years of technical writing experience in software or defense industries
- •Strong ability to understand and explain complex technical concepts
- •Experience with documentation tools (Confluence, MadCap Flare, Markdown, Git)
- •Excellent written communication and editing skills
- •Ability to work independently and manage multiple documentation projects
- •Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Communication, Computer Science, or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- •Experience writing documentation for classified systems
- •Knowledge of DITA, structured authoring, and single-sourcing methodologies
- •Familiarity with API documentation tools (Swagger, ReadMe, Postman)
- •Understanding of data engineering, healthcare IT, or intelligence systems
- •Experience creating video tutorials and screen recordings
- •Background in user experience or instructional design
